From October 28 to November 2, cinephiles from all over Quebec gather in Rouyn-Noranda to celebrate movies in grand style at the Festival du cinéma international en Abitibi-Témiscamingue. Now in its 42nd year, the event features over a hundred productions from some 30 countries, not to mention a program of activities for all ages to add to the excitement. Short, medium-length and feature-length films, documentaries and fiction, animation and live action – cinema in all its forms is on display at this standout festival!
A favourite spot for outdoor enthusiasts in the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region, Parc national d’Aiguebelle is the perfect place to admire the splendid symphony of colours that take turns in the spotlight around the region. Go on a hike to discover evocatively named geological phenomena such as giant’s kettles and pillow lava, cross a vertiginous fault from the top of a suspended walkway hanging 22 metres in the air and climb the fire lookout tower for a panoramic view of the surrounding area. With its landscapes shaped over billions of years, this park is a true natural jewel that promises an incredible visit full of colour.
