Fall is a beautiful season with warm colours, cooler temperatures and unique activities to enjoy indoors and outdoors. No matter the weather, you can discover the parkour circuit and Ninja Warrior zone at Parc Ékilib, have fun at Au Machin Chouette where you’ll find a maze, tunnels, a climbing wall and a trampoline, or visit the local museums and art galleries. And if you want to enjoy being out in nature, the Arbraska Mont-Saint-Grégoire and Uplå aerial courses, the A.S.A paintball field and the hot-air balloon rides offered by La Magie de l'Air and Balad'Air are all great activities!
In the fall, living in the present moment means preserving traditions, and the quintessential activity for doing so is apple picking in the region's numerous orchards. Families gather to harvest these fruits, friends relax in the fresh air, and solo pickers stock up to bring home their bounty while thinking about all the recipes they’ll try. Vergers Pierre Tremblay & fils, Denis Charbonneau Orchard and Cider House, and Cidrerie Verger Léo Boutin are three examples of great places to visit that offer a wide range of apple varieties, local products and activities for kids. To discover the Rosinette and Passionnata apples – two new varieties – head over to Verger de la Montagne! Other options are Le Petit verger du village, specializing in eco-responsible farming, are the Roka estates, which are organic growers.
With the arrival of fall, there’s nothing like a hike or bike ride to admire Mother Nature’s new attire! Cyclists can choose from La Montérégiade, which follows an old railroad line, the Canal-de-Chambly NHS multi-purpose trail along the Richelieu River, and for longer distances, the Vallée-des-Forts cycling route or the Lake Champlain bicycle route. Other not-to-be-missed parks and trails for cycling or hiking in beautiful fall scenery include Parc naturel des Parulines, Parc et Sentier de la Nature, Au fil de l'eau Park and Centre de Plein Air l'Estacade.
