A taste of the Islands

The Pied-de-Vent cheese factory, located in the enchanting setting of Havre-aux-Maisons, is the third ECONOMUSÉE to open its doors in the Magdalen Islands. Its artisans, Jérémie and Lucie Arseneau, offer you, in addition to their famous Pied-de-Vent cheese, the Tomme des Demoiselles and the Jeune-Coeur. These cheeses are made from whole raw milk, without chemical additives, from a single dairy herd fed on the islands’ terroir. The cows are the real stars there. Take the tour to learn the secrets of making these authentic, organic products.

When you’re on the Islands, taking your time also means exploring at a manageable pace, whether you’re on foot or on a bike! Choose to slow down and immerse yourself in this universe that promises a change of scenery and moments of contemplation. Like a great pilgrim walk, the Entre Vents et Marées trails form a 230-km network of exceptional views to be explored on foot. If you want to speed things up a bit as you take in even more incredible landscapes, get on a bike and ride along the paths that stretch out across the archipelago.
